At 3:00 p.m. today the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade extravaganza was already in full production mode. By this time Buzz Lightyear was inflated and leading the group, Kermit was just getting his gas, Sponge Bob was up and bouncing, and some dude with a peg leg was up too (looked like Super Mario). There were more waiting for inflation but the whole operation was so organized - down to the labels on boxes - I think they hired NASA consultants.
In fact, the orb of Kermit's eye echoes the orbs in the Rose Center in the background, which also brings NASA to mind. More balloon pics later. I have to go roll out the crust for the pecan pie now.

Yeah, yeah, the balloons are great.
Now let's talk about pecan pie. Possibly my favourite. I baked pies at one time but my crusts were never very good.
I have special chilling techniques that prevent the dough from getting uppity. Also, I try to roll the dough only once - twice max.
My 'helper' did a great job cracking eggs. Different story with the flour. She ended up with a flour foot print on her tail. Guess whose foot.
that is one drunk elephant..
I would be too if I heard a Hoo.
haha, we saw the Horton balloon on television.
I'm not so into crowds, unless I'm taking photos, lol.
That must have been a neat experience!
