Before & After

This was the view out my bedroom window on Monday morning.

This was the view out my bedroom window this morning.

Good thing I like construction sites. And did the noise wake me up? Hell, no. My phone did with its little tiny ringy-dingy.

Harlem Bound III

We're almost there.

Harlem Bound II

One day before the move.

Those metal things used to be a child's bunk bed. With any luck, they will be again soon.

Harlem Bound

The movers come on Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. so this is what New York will look like to us for the next week or so.

Pink Cooper Mini Strech w/ Hot Tub

Some girls with deep tans in bikini tops were popping up through the roof of this crazy car and throwing junk at passersby.

It was a poorly branded promotion because even though I saw them two days in a row, I have no idea what they were promoting. Notice the dark stretch SUV follow car, which was also there both days.

Getting Ready for the Heat

This fire plug was opened on W 4th Street recently, hopefully to prepare for this weekend's pending heat wave.

Someone please cue Will Smith's "Summertime."

Jesus and the Bottle Trees

A dark-stone church at 5th Avenue and 11th Street is featuring some art on the lawn! They have a beautiful garden that doesn't stop at natural flora; these bamboo and plastic bottle trees (with mysterious things on the trunks) appeared recently.

Think Jesus would like them?

The No York Times

At 9:00 a.m. this trolley had no papers on it. By noon, it was holding the boxes leftover from unpacking bottled water.

When I see someone reading the Times, it already looks like a relic. Paper papers are almost gone. Soon people will only plink for news.

Hide & Seek (NYC Small Apartment-style)

This is how a four-year old hides in a tiny NYC apartment. She did a good job blending, I think. The towel has an uncanny resemblance to the Idiot's derby silks.

Egg Salad, Again

We're still eating hard-boiled eggs.

Cleverly Hidden

From yesterday's Easter egg hunt. That was one sly Easter Bunny!

Get Ready to DYE!

The set up gave me false hope as to what the final product would look like; this table looks much prettier than the dyed eggs did. But we had fun. Sort of. I didn't like it when the eggs fell out of the dippers, nor when they went flying across the room.

Thankfully, Aunt Lauren was there, which kept me calm and kept us all laughing. Thanks for everything Lauren!

Sometimes It Snows in April

It snowed today in NYC. Just a few flurries. This is an old picture from a spring snow in 2001, I think.
